Additionally, to achieve better results and introducing positive changes at procurement they take into account also the guidelines for public procurement of innovative solutions.<\/p><p>Regulation on green public procurement (Official Gazette of the Republic of Slovenia, no . 51\/17, 64\/19 and 121\/21) in Slovenia is compulsory for 22 subjects in public procurement.<\/p><p>In Slovenia, we have introduced one more tool that accelerates technological progress and helps to solve social challenges in different areas, e.g health care, climate changes, transport, security , environment preservation, management of water and waste and construction industry. It is public procurement of innovative solutions.<\/p><p>This mechanism enables the public sector an efficient modernization of public services, and at the same time creates opportunities for Slovenian and European companies to place themselves and acquire a leading role on new markets. Often it is possible to deal with challenges with innovative solutions that are already close to the market or are already on market in a smaller extent and do not need new research and development. In that case we are talking about public procurement of innovative solutions. In cases where there is no such solution (yet) , and the need appears for research and development, it is possible to use the process of pre-commercial public procurement or a process of public procurement of partnerships for innovation.<\/p><p><a href=\"https:\/\/eur-lex.europa.eu\/legal-content\/SL\/TXT\/?uri=uriserv%3AOJ.C_.2021.267.01.0001.01.SLV&amp;toc=OJ%3AC%3A2021%3A267%3ATOC\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Guidelines for public procurement of innovative solutions<\/a><\/p><p>In introducing stricter environmental requirements in public procurement, there is an important role of the connection between public contracting authorities - on levels of the local community or wider. Connecting with the peers who think alike presents an option to exchange experience.<\/p><p>Some local communities ( e.g. development centers or municipalities ) are already organizing training, professional events and others forms of socializing and exchanges of good practice between public contracting authorities and informing them about the content from the field of green, innovative and circular procurement.
